Using this online system allows you to immediately report a nonviolent crime, such as identity theft, vandalism, lost or found property, phone/internet scams, trespass to vehicles or property, or cold thefts under $5,000. The police report will then be available for printing at no cost. These online reports cannot pertain to crimes in progress

Confirm the following to decide if this tool is right for you:
- This incident is not an emergency
- This incident occurred within the Castle Rock Police Department Town limits (Check Town limits)
- There are no known suspects
- This incident did not occur on a state highway

- If you answered yes to all of the above questions, you are ready to file your report online. Choose the crime type from the Acceptable Reports tab above.
- If you answered no to any of the questions, review our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section or call our non-emergency number and speak to a dispatcher. 303-663-6100.
Report Process
- See the message: "Your online police report has been submitted," showing that your police report is complete.
- Have a police report case number, which you can refer to if you have questions for police. You can submit this report number to your insurance company.
- Be able to print a copy of the police report to keep for your records.
Important Information
- Filing a false police report is a crime.
- All cases filed using the ePoliceReporting System will be reviewed by a Castle Rock police officer.
- Upon review, if further investigation of your case is needed, you may be contacted.
- Make sure you have chosen the correct incident type to file. You will be asked the same information that a police officer would have asked you in person.
- Once you have entered all of the information, you will be given an opportunity to make sure that everything is correct before submitting your report.
- After you submit the report, you will receive an email confirming that the report has been received.
- An officer will then review and approve the report and send you a PDF copy of the report via email. Or the officer could contact you with some additional questions or advice on what to do if the report is not something that can be filed with the Police Department.
- By filing your report online, you are not only saving yourself time but also helping your community. Online reports provide the agency with valuable information about crimes in your area while reducing the response time of patrol officers to emergencies.

A person commits theft of fuel when they knowingly leave the premises of an establishment that offers fuel for sale after dispensing fuel and knowingly fails to pay for the fuel.
Unknown person obtains a credit card or some other goods or service by use of your personal information(such as: name, Social Security number, date of birth). Note: If reporting any type of identity theft, including unemployment fraud, use your home address as place of occurrence.
When property is taken without your permission. This does not include someone physically taking something from you personally.
A deliberate act of damaging, defacing or destroying personal or public property. Examples include: Mailbox maliciously damaged; "Keying" a car's paint finish; broken windows; defacement of public or private property, having eggs, shaving cream or toilet paper thrown at house or property.
The unwelcome and unauthorized entering of a person onto your property. The unwelcome and unauthorized entering of a person into your vehicle.
Personal items that are missing with no indication they were stolen, i.e. left at a restaurant or other public place. Often insurance companies or third parties request a report number. Note: the value of the property must be less than $1,000.
Any attempt to obtain money, financial or personal information by deception through the Internet, telephone or mail where no monetary loss is actually sustained. Examples include but are not limited to phishing scams, jury duty scams, Craigslist scams, tech support scams, lottery and sweepstakes scams, fake check scams, pay-in-advance credit offers, online dating scams, money transfer scams, investment schemes, mystery shopper scams, bogus apartment rentals, Nigerian scams, work from home scams, re-shipping scams.
